Specializing in Postpartum Mood Counseling & Support
The birth of a new baby can bring intense love, joy, and wonder to a family. It can also be a time of stress, overwhelm, and confusion.
Learning to care for a new baby, adjusting to new family roles and expectations can make the transition to parenthood very challenging.
Lindsey offers mood screening and support for both partners where there is concern about adjustment during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.
Lindsey offers art therapy services as an adjunct to traditional talk therapy for those clients looking for a gentle, alternative approach to exploring presenting challenges.
Lindsey provides evidence-based, trauma-informed care for birthing parents and their partners who may have experienced trauma around conception, pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
This counseling service is also available to other family members and birth professionals who may have experienced secondary trauma.
Counseling & Support Services
Lindsey offers individual video counseling sessions suited to meet your treatment needs and/or personal growth and development goals.
The first few sessions are typically spent getting to know one another, gathering your biopsychosocial history and any presenting issues, and discussing your treatment goals for counseling. Additionally, the initial session will involve reviewing important details about my practice and signing intake forms as needed.
We will also discuss and create your treatment plan together and determine the frequency of your sessions.
Areas of Clinical Focus for Individual Counseling
Trauma, Birth Trauma
Pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs)

Transition to parenthood
Grief and Loss
Couples counseling is currently limited to parents seeking additional support with the transition to parenthood, including with preconception, pregnancy, birth, postpartum period, coparenting, adoption, miscarriage and abortion. Couples counseling appointments are scheduled in 60-minute sessions.
Lindsey typically prefers to meet with the couple together for the first session to learn more about the relationship history and dynamics, and may find it helpful to meet with both clients individually as well.
We will collaborate to create a treatment plan to help identify the interventions, modalities, and frequency of sessions that may be helpful in meeting your goals as a couple.
A Note About Trauma Therapy
For many people, the various aspects of the transition to parenthood (preconception, pregnancy, birthing, & adoption) and parenting can be full of excitement and joy.
For others, experiencing a trauma during this vulnerable time can dominate their birth story or experience for years to come. This can lead to a long term negative impact on individual functioning, the relationship between partners, as well as attachment and bonding with your newest family member.
Lindsey provides evidence-based, trauma-informed care for birthing parents, their birth support team members, and healthcare professionals. Lindsey utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
